4 weeks to go...

Karis, my friend from the States, came to stay this week for a few days. Was really great to see her. I last saw her in May 2005 when i went backpacking in USA. We didn't go out much while she was here as i was working in the mornings and we weren't really very organised but it was just great to spend some time with her!

Had lunch with Colin and Rachel on Monday and was good to chat about the ships and get some questions answered! They've been working with OM for nearly 13 years. They are talking in church on Sunday and I'm finally also going to do my presentation. So hopefully by the end of Sunday my church will be well clued up about what I'm doing for the next 2 years.

Presentation complete! It went really well. I was nervous when I woke up but once I was at church I was ok. People said it came across well and seeing as Rachel was speaking about OM too, if my church don't get what I'm doing now they never will! I almost enjoyed doing a presentation if that's possible!

6 weeks to go...

I am at my parents until tomorrow. Wednesday is graduation! It's been good to be back for the weekend. I spent some time with Pippa on Saturday which was great - it was good to have a laugh and chat about leaving soon - 6 weeks today! We both feel a mixture of excitement and intrepidation :0)

I am catching up with Hannah later on today. She's not long returned from 3 years in Kosova and usually it's been impossible to meet up when I've been back but coz she's back permanently for the mo, and has been back for a while, there isn't such a mad rush of ppl wanting to catch up with her! Anyway, it'll be great to chat and get some pearls of wisdom from her!!

I feel like I'm nowhere near ready to leave but in reality all i need to do is my clothes etc shopping and i'll be pretty much there. I am leaving that until I've seen Rachel next week and until I've finished work so that i can take a fully comprehensive shopping list and trek over to Chester for the day. I have a few more jabs to have but they're almost done.

Ah yes, the job! So i did actually get one. There was a B&B I emailed ages ago who said they'd get back to me if anything came up. Well, the lady rang me last Monday and wanted me to start right away. It's just doing 2 hours a day to help her out. The B&B is 5 mins from me and only small. But it means I am no longer bored silly, I'm helping her out (and she's really nice), and it's a little extra cash in the pocket.
